Not Samuel Johnson, apparently

If you've given your blog a title which is a partial quote I guess it is always better to know where you're quoting from, should anybody ask. Or should it come up in Trivial Pursuit, or something.
A quick Google on the quote reveals the number one link is a Samuel Johnson website eager to point out that he didn't actually say it, or at least, not the words 'the road to' anyway. Further googling and Karl Marx pops up as the originator, and this site provides some wittier takes on the same quote. My favourite is the anonymous "The road to hell is paved with good intentions and littered with sloppy analysis". What that says about me, I'm not too sure.
Why this site has links to, among others, 'Vegetable and lentil casserole' on this page is a mystery, however.
